I don’t know about you, but I am ready for the change of seasons. I am NOT ready for the school year to begin again with a Kindergartener and a Second Grader, BUT that’s a different story. I’m ready to throw on a sweater and switch my cold brew to a hot latte, take the crock pot out, and watch the leaves change.
And I’m SO ready for fall fashion! My very FAVORITE season to dress for – and yes – I am still getting dressed EVERY day because it makes me FEEL better! So while I’m gearing up to go through my closet as I like to do before the change of any season – I’m not so quick to dismiss my summer clothes – and here’s why!
Your summer clothes can be reinvented for fall!
Think: layers & shoe change.
Have a little sundress you love? Amazing. Throw a long cardigan over it – or a moto jacket – and some boots or booties and – VOILA – it’s reinvented for fall.
Let’s look at two examples below 👇🏻
OUTFIT ONE: This dress I love with sneakers and equally as much with a fun little puff sleeve jacket and booties.
OUTFIT TWO: Changed up the hair accessory, added a white moto, and traded the sandals for booties and your casual summer dress is jazzed up for fall.
Don’t be afraid to take your shorts into fall, too! Shorts are SO cute with a sweater, a sweatshirt for those transitional weeks, and a cardigan! When you’re wearing a cardigan with shorts – go for a longer one and let it come down past your shorts for an effortlessly chic vibe.
I have one word for transitional pants: joggers! You GUYS! Joggers are so fun because they are COMFY without having to sacrifice style. They’re sort of a marriage of a sweatpant and a nice pair of pants. You know how I feel about comfy – it’s number one. And these are a 10 on the comfy meter. A great pair of joggers can be dressed up or down in warm weather or cold and THAT is pretty awesome. Inspo for dressing them down and up!
And last, but certainly not least – your tanks! Don’t be so fast to get rid of your tanks for fall, friends! Use them with your layers! With your blazers, moto jackets, cardigans – throw a scarf on if you need a little extra coverage – and you can get so much wear out of your camis and tanks in fall!
Hope this brought you some inspo to start thinking about reinventing your closet from summer to fall!
